The Conservatory - Bellagio’s Opus

Each season, the enormously talented Horticulture and Engineering teams transform the 14,000-square-foot Botanical Gardens into a showcase of inspiring sights, sounds, scents and colors. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter are all featured—along with a special display for Lunar New Year. When the seasons change so do the displays. The talented Conservatory team changes out the design and also replants and repurposes as much of the living plant material as possible, further celebrating Mother Nature and our commitment to sustainability.

Breathtaking & Brilliant

Across the lobby from the front desk is an opening through which a glass ceiling rises up 50 feet. This is the beautiful Conservatory. The ceiling framework and beams are the sculpted green metal of oxidized copper, called verdigris, set in floral patterns.

The Conservatory & Botanical Gardens’ pathways lead to MICHAEL MINA Bellagio, a wonderful gourmet seafood restaurant; Giardini Garden Store, a shop displaying garden-oriented gifts, fountains and decorative items for the home; Spa & Salon Bellagio; and Via Fiore (“flower way”), the promenade which leads to the Spa Tower.

A horticulture staff of 120 maintains the Botanical Gardens and the entire grounds of Bellagio. The staff has the ability to achieve seasonal designs by selecting flowers that complement the trees, gazebos, bridges and ponds, and can add or remove water features to enhance the seasonal effect.

The Conservatory season starts with the Lunar New Year and features traditional designs of the celebration. Spring brings cherry blossoms, while the summer offers flora equally as fragrant. Orange and yellow, brown and gold are used to match the fall foliage. Following Thanksgiving weekend, the gardens are transformed for the Christmas season. Bellagio’s holiday display is one of extraordinary beauty. The wonderful fragrances and magnificent colors of the seasons take over the entire arrival experience. This ever-changing natural display is the single most significant component of Bellagio’s design, fulfilling the promise of creating the most extraordinary hotel in the world.

Jungle of Dreams

Take the 3D Tour

Welcome summer with the debut of Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens spectacular new display “Jungle of Dreams.” Paying homage to the animal kingdom with 28 animal sculptures and close to 10,000 plants and flowers, Jungle of Dreams takes guests on a journey through a magical place with moments of discovery and whimsy around every corner, as majestic animals gather to celebrate the coronation of the king of the jungle.

“Reimagining the Conservatory for this new summer display was a dream come true for me. Working with the talented Bellagio horticulture team, we took a scene that is captivating, visual and dramatic and brought it to life as only Bellagio can,” said designer Ed Libby. “New elements, including LED screens, along with tropical plants, foliage and flowers from around the world provide a feast for the eyes to all who visit, transporting them to this very special space we created.”

In the background, birds chirp, crickets sing, the wind softly blows and a lion roars as a grand and theatrical soundtrack featuring the sounds of the jungle adds a soothing layer to the display. “Jungle of Dreams” is on display through September 10, 2022.
